This is the story of my path to healing...
My interest in medicine and the human body began at a very young age. I would often read medical books at bedtime and found myself fascinated by the labels on the medicines we had at home.
At the age of twelve, I became very ill with pneumonia whilst already struggling with asthma, and I was hospitalised. My Paediatrician at the time advised me to avoid certain foods and ingredients to support my recovery. It was the first time I truly realised how deeply the food we eat can affect our bodies and our wellbeing. This experience sparked a growing curiosity within me about health, healing, and how the human body works.
As the years passed, however, my pneumonia ordeal became a distant memory and those healthy habits slowly faded. My teenage years and twenties were fuelled by poor nutrition, little sleep, emotional stress, and the many toxins we often expose ourselves to physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Depression, anxiety, constant illness, and emotional overwhelm became recurring themes in my life.
Medication and unhealthy comfort habits helped me cope temporarily, but deep down I knew I was not truly well.
In my mid to late twenties, my husband and I began trying to start a family. After struggling with fertility for many years and receiving endless advice from doctors, family, and friends, I once again found myself drawn back toward a healthier lifestyle and more natural approaches to healing. Thankfully, it worked, and I eventually fell pregnant with our son. But after becoming a mother, life became busier and overwhelming, and my own wellbeing once again moved to the bottom of my priority list.
Postpartum depression intensified my struggles with anxiety and emotional health. I chose to take antidepressants but didn't enjoy feeling emotionally numb and disconnected from myself. With the support of a psychologist, I slowly weaned off the medication, but I still never felt fully free from the anxiety and depression beneath the surface.
A few years later, after the birth of my daughter, postpartum depression returned far more intensely. I experienced debilitating panic attacks, severe depressive episodes, overwhelming anxiety, and daily thoughts of wanting to escape the pain I was living with. Although it was one of the darkest periods of my life, it also became the catalyst that completely changed my path.
I knew I did not want to return to medication, so I began searching for alternative ways to heal. I explored natural therapies, holistic remedies, nutrition, emotional healing, and deeper self-understanding. Along the way, I became far more conscious of the foods I was eating and how they affected not only my physical health, but also my emotional and mental wellbeing. Learning to support my body more gently and intentionally became a deeply important part of my healing journey.
But my seeking did not stop there..
For the first time in my life, I felt truly alive. I felt like I was finally living rather than simply surviving. I became deeply passionate about understanding how healing works — not only physically, but emotionally, mentally, and energetically too. I wanted to understand how I had fallen into such a dark place, how I had found my way out, and most importantly, how I could help others do the same.
This led me to study for many years within the field of Natural & Energy Medicine. I qualified as a Naturopathic Health Practitioner, studied Herbal Medicine, and qualified as a Rife PEMF therapist. I also trained in Reiki and have been incredibly humbled to learn various Energy Medicine techniques from wonderful teachers and mentors over the years.
My passion for learning and understanding the human body and human experience continues to grow. I regularly attend workshops, courses, and further training within the Natural and Energy Medicine fields, and I continue learning daily through the privilege of walking alongside my patients on their healing journeys.
My desire to help others live healthier and happier lives naturally led me toward incorporating various holistic and energy healing modalities into my practice. Over time, I began witnessing profound shifts within my patients when emotional and energetic healing were included alongside physical support. Watching people experience deep and meaningful transformation confirmed what I had already experienced within myself — that healing the emotional body is just as important as healing the physical and mental body.
What began as part of my own healing journey slowly became my life's calling.
Today, my practice is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, but due to the nature of my work, I am able to work with both people and animals around the world through energetic distance sessions.
Energy Medicine has become so much more than the work I do, it is woven into every aspect of my being. It has transformed not only my health, but the way I experience life itself.
My health and wellbeing today are far more balanced and supported than they once were, but I have also learnt that healing is not about perfection. I still experience life as any human being does, and as a deeply sensitive person and empath, life can sometimes feel overwhelming very quickly. There are still moments where I feel anxious, emotional, overstimulated, or challenged by life's demands and energies. There are still days where comfort habits seem appealing or where negative thoughts feel louder than positive ones.
But what has changed is my awareness, my relationship with myself, and my ability to support my mind, body, and emotions with far more compassion and gentleness than before. I have learnt to listen to my body, honour my sensitivities, and return to balance more lovingly and consciously.
I believe healing is not about becoming perfect. It is about learning to care for ourselves more deeply, understanding ourselves more fully, and meeting ourselves with compassion through every season of life. I believe there will always be layers within us that continue asking to be healed, understood, loved, or released.
My healing journey continues every day, and I believe it always will.
Every step of my journey has led me here — to walk beside you as you navigate your own path toward healing, balance, and self discovery.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey.
With love, Tracy-Lee
